For the second time in visiting the life of this place I was disappointed, is it just me? I mean it recently won an award for Best Bakery for Sweets, so am I the only one in Dallas missing something? Probably not. I know what I like and don't like and I don't like the three pies I've tasted from there (Cherry Bomb and Lord of the Pies and another one my mom got when it first opened).

"Cherry Bomb" is self explanatory, cherry that tastes super sour and tart-isn't cherry pie supposed to be a hint of sweet? "Lord of the Pies" is described by D Magazine as "a towering slice of apples baked in handmade caramel and topped with cinnamon streusel." I took about 3 bites this last time and was just as pucker faced as the first. I couldn't pin point the awkward taste at first, turned out to be the "handmade caramel", the caramel tasted like sour milk....something along the lines of "cajeta".

Typical price for a slice is $6-8, if you get two slices you could have bought the ingredients and baked the thing yourself. I'm too frugal. I love to bake and I don't see myself going there again.

Don't get me wrong guys, I truly love the idea and the concept and decor and location, etc etc of this place, but something was missing, like a sweet tasting pie. Maybe I'm too spoiled by my own baking along with my sister's homemade pies, Apple Cranberry pie anyone?

Hello again everyone, or myself since I'm the only one who knows of this blog....ha! Alas I have once again decided to spontaneously start blogging again about you know, this and that. Too much has passed, a little of the same, a little of the not so same but altogether, time has flown.

I'm going to actually try and get people to find me in the blogger world this time around. I still love to take a lot of pictures but unfortunately about two thousand of them were smashed instantaneously earlier this year so I'll never get them back (no I didn't back them up or transfer them-boo me).

With that, I will try and post my personal review on places I visit or just tips on what you can do or not do when you decide to go where I've been.

In any case, I will post a little of this, a little of that. Keep reading, come back and comment! :)
